Happy New Year Watoto family! Each new year brings with it a fresh opportunity to experience God in a new way. God has done amazingthings in and through us as a church and He is not done. Many cities still need healing and transformation as more people come into a living relationship with Christ. For this to happen, God is calling us, this year, to re-engage and Pioneer Again.

We are inviting you to join us for the next 21 days (09 – 29 January 2023) to seek God and ask Him to enable us as individuals, families, church, and as a nation, to pioneer again.

To make these 21 days a meaningful time for you, here is a guide that we encourage you to use as you set apart time to pray and study the Word.

You can be sure that God will reveal Himself to you.

Theme Scriptures:

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Habakkuk 3:2 (NIV)

“Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.”

Revelation 2:1-7 (NIV)

“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lamp stands. I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lamp stand from its place. But you have this in your favour: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”

A VISION

Scriptures:

Proverbs 29:18a, Nehemiah 1:1-10, Joel 2:28-29, Jeremiah 29:11, John 10:10, Habakkuk 2:2-3, 1 Corinthians 2:14

As we all look to Pioneer Again, we all need a picture of God’s preferred future for our lives - a burden, your life’s mission, something that God has given you an undying passion for. We call it “Vision”.

A vision brings clarity, and focus to our lives so that every moment we live is filled with a God-purpose that produces passion. It is always bigger than us and can never be exhausted in one lifetime.

Prayer points:

- Ask God to open your eyes and help you discover His vision, mission, burden, or purpose for your life

- Ask God to give you a renewed passion for the vision He has given already you.

Ask God to resource the vision (finances, people, favour for new opportunities)

- Ask God for the grace and strength to endure trials as you pursue the vision

- Ask God to prosper the vision of Watoto Church (growth and multiplication of campuses, increase in the number of sponsors for our Watoto children, fresh ideas on how to go about ministry in the day we live etc.)

FAITH OVER FEAR

Scriptures:

Hebrews 11:1-16, Mark 9:23, Numbers 13:25-14:9, Proverbs 3:5-6, Matthew 14:25-31

Pioneering Again is going to require Faith - a strong belief in our supernatural God! This year, God is calling you to go where you have never been before and do what you have never done before.

Fear is the enemy of Faith. It cripples us, causes us to doubt God, and robs us of the amazing future the Lord has for us.

Faith in God, for whom nothing is impossible, causes you to believe that all things are possible. God is calling us to choose Faith over Fear.

Prayer points:

- Ask God to give you the strength and courage to step out in faith

- Speak the promises of God that cause faith to rise in your heart for what He has in store for you

- Repent of any doubt you carry in your heart concerning what God has called you to be and to do.

- Ask God to deliver you from the spirit of fear - fear of failure, fear of people, fear of lack, fear of rejection etc.

- Ask God to grant the leadership of Watoto courage to take on the giants that stand against the ministry’s future.

A HEART FOR SACRIFICE

Scriptures:

Hebrews 12:1-4, Philippians 3:7-8, Hebrews 11:24-26, Genesis 39:8-9, Daniel 1:8, John 10:18, Philippians 2:6-11, Matthew 19:21-2

We have to be willing to kiss what is dearest and best to us, “goodbye!” so that we can step into something greater that God has for us. Any individual that ever pioneered anything had to sacrifice a lot to bring something new and fresh that changed the landscape of things – often at great personal cost.

We shall need to discard certain good things and adopt other uncertain things that enable us to grab a hold of the supremely better future that lies ahead of us. Though painful, sacrificing for God’s sake is the key to unlocking the door to His destiny for you.

Prayer points:

- Ask God to show you what He wants you to sacrifice (let go of or throw off). Pray and renounce whatever it is. Choose to let it go today

- Repent of anything you have held onto without the Lord’s blessing

- Ask God to show you what He wants you to pick up, strengthen or even revive in your life

- Ask God to give you the power to hold onto what He has asked you to pick up, strengthen or even revive

- Ask the Lord to help the Watoto family to embrace a heart of sacrifice (generosity, hospitality etc.
