Prayer Guide: 11 January to 15 January 2021

Greetings and a Happy New Year to you, Watoto Family. We give thanks to God for the display of His goodness towards us and how far He has brought us.

As a church, our theme for 2021 is ‘Arise & Shine’ taken from Isaiah 60:1. Isaiah 60:1 (AMP)

ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”

Arise from the shadows of 2020 - a challenging year - and go forth in the light of Christ in 2021. God is assuring us of a new beginning, a newness that is orchestrated by Him.

With this confidence we would like to spend 3 weeks, 11 to 29 January 2021, seeking God and asking Him to shine His glory in our lives, family, church, and the nation. We encourage you to tune into 104.1 PowerFM, from Monday to Friday, for a time of prayer with a pastor at 7:30am and 12pm.

Important Reminders:

Prayer is simply pouring out your heart to God; making your requests known to Him with sincerity and conviction. In doing this, you connect with God.

Fasting is voluntarily abstaining totally or partially from food. This is for a specific purpose and in most cases, it is to grow closer to God. In doing this, you disconnect from the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life.

Most importantly, the effectiveness of prayer and fasting is in our faith in God to graciously answer our prayers. It is neither in the length of our prayers nor in how long we can abstain from food. So, prayer and fasting allows us to disconnect ourselves from worldly distractions so that we can reconnect with God.

Please note: Beware of your medical condition and choose wisely on how to get involved
